Basic Rules and Format of the tournament

Quick overview of the rules and format for the BritSports Indoor Cricket
Tournament.

The first days play consists of two divisions playing 9 matches round Robin
style to determine seeding places for second day knockout format

1. Each team has eight players, six players bat, eight players field.

2. Each team receives six overs, consisting of six deliveries, except for
quarterfinals and final, which will be eight overs, time permitting.

3. Batting team, bat in pairs, each pair receives two overs, and then retire,
therefore 3 batting pairs of Two, when we play six over innings and 4 batting
pairs of two, when we play eight over innings.

4. When a player is out he does not retire he only loses five runs from teams
score, and continues to bat, therefore batting pairs always receive two overs.

5. Bowlers receive one over each, wicket keeper does not bowl, in eight over
matches captain chooses one player to bowl two overs.

6. Team with the most net runs wins, in quarterfinals and final, in the event
of a tie, the team with the least outs wins.

7. The playing field is divided into two parts. The bowlers half, and
batsman's half. Fielding team can only place 3 fielders in each half plus
the Bowler and wicket keeper respectively.

8. There are no LBW.

9. A wide is 12in from leg stump, 18in from off stump, a no ball is over
shoulder height. All no balls and wides receive 3 runs, but not an extra
delivery.

10. The ball is always in play until it reaches either the bowlers or wicket
keepers hands.

11. Each team must provide one scorer and one umpire, too the match preceding
there's. Therefore each match has two scorers and two umpires. Failure to
produce umpires and scorers on time, for preceding match, will be penalized
fifteen runs on their upcoming match. All umpires and scorers must be present
15 minutes prior to match they are to work.

12. Captains must meet 15 minutes prior to their match, to make the toss, and
to arrange batting orders with umpires, and fielding placements. It is very
important, that teams are ready to play as soon as they enter the field of
play. Any team delaying start of match will be penalized one run for every
minute of delay.
