NOTE: Use both sets of directions for best results just in case some landmarks have changed names or are gone! :)
From Manhattan (copied this from Columbia Univ CC's website):
Directions to the pitch on Beach Channel Drive in Rockaway.
Take Rockaway Blvd until you see the Sherwood Diner.
Turn right on to Burnside Ave.
Follow Burnside along and it will change names to Beach channel Drive.
Look for a Bravo supermarket.
Turn right on 32nd st and you are at the ground.
From Boston:
Route 95 South all the way to New York State Route 684 to Whitestone Bridge to Van Wyck Expressway
towards Kennedy Airport (JFK) to Belt Parkway East.
Exit off Belt Parkway East at EXIT 20 (150th Street - Rockaway).
You will then be on the SOUTH CONDUIT. Stay on the South Conduit to the 2nd traffic lights which is ROCKAWAY BLVD.
Make RIGHT at this junction (SOUTH CONDUIT AND ROCKAWAY). Landmark “DOUBLE TREE CLUB” on the right and “GETTY GAS STATION” on the left.
Continue on ROCKAWAY BLVD all the way into FIVE TOWN landmark (five town is like a huge mall), COSTCO a wholesale department store on the
right.
Look for “878 NASSAU EXPRESSWAY LONG BEACH-ROCKAWAY”. Bear RIGHT at this sign and proceed to the next major intersection “BURNSIDE AVE”.
Bear RIGHT here as well. Continue on this Avenue which becomes “SHERIDAN BLVD”. Stay on your LEFT on this Blvd.
This Blvd becomes “BEACH CHANNEL DRIVE”. Stay on this Drive to “BAY 32 STREET” and make a RIGHT.
The park “BAYSWATER PARK” is on the left.
